Kisasa FC’s fourth Diamond Youth Football League fixture ended in another victory on Sunday afternoon, as the boys secured a confident 3-0 win over Diamond FC B at the St. Mary’s grounds.

White butterflies could be seen streaking across the St. Mary’s fields beneath the Nairobi sun, adorning the games with their seasonal migration. Bravin started in goal behind a back line of Richie, Lawrence, Obama, and Kelvin. Crispin sat at the heart of midfield alongside Nicholas, Griffin, and Geoffrey, while Ryan and Oti led the attack. Moses (GK), Jose, and Tremo provided the options from the bench.

From the opening minutes, Kisasa FC controlled the game.

Crispin exuded composure in the middle, calmly connecting play while the boys settled into long spells of possession. Geoff linked things together from the center of the pitch, and Oti immediately looked dangerous in the opposition box, forcing defenders backwards whenever he turned toward goal.

A free kick around the 28th minute drifted wide but continued to show signs of danger. Another effort from distance followed soon after, also wide, while Diamond FC’s goalkeeper rose well to claim a long kick forward that briefly carried the look of an Ederson-style assist.

The match remained tightly contested, but Kisasa FC looked increasingly comfortable.

Down the left side, the Kisasa FC winger was continually involved in play, often beating his man with stepovers before sending crosses in, albeit into the keeper’s gloves. At the other end, the defensive line repeatedly recycled possession calmly back into the opposition half. Around the pitch, the energy of fans and supporters engaged in the game rose at equal to the game’s action.

Then the pressure finally told. Crispin continued driving the game forward, and eventually the breakthrough came. A loose clearance from the Diamond FC B back line only went as far as Crispin who controlled the ball nicely with his chest, nimbly lifted it over a defenders outstretched challenge before sending a powerful right footed shot into the top right corner. His teammates swarmed him as the sidelines erupted in cheers. At 28′, the boys made it 1-0.

The momentum only grew from there.

Oti nearly doubled the lead after an excellent run through the middle, but his effort came too close to the goalkeeper, who reacted in time, ahead of the striker. Still, the feeling around the pitch was clear. Every spell now seemed to build on the last, growing into longer and more dominant stretches of football.

The fight and insistence remained characteristic of the boys throughout. Obama battled hard on the flank from deep in the defensive line, winning an important free kick after a physical duel with his winger.

That energy led directly to the second goal just before halftime.

A press from the left forced confusion inside the final third of the Diamond FC B half. The keeper did well to get down and make the initial save, but the rebound fell kindly for Griffin, who blasted it emphatically into the roof of the net.

2-0 Kisasa.

Diamond FC B returned after halftime with greater urgency, introducing a quick attacker down the left side, though his first dangerous pass ran too strongly and Bravin gathered comfortably.

The second half opened up. Chances arrived at both ends.

Oti remained heavily involved, chasing loose balls, tracking back defensively, and constantly stretching the opposition line. One dangerous cross flashed just over the striker’s head after excellent recovery work down the wing, with Ritchie supporting from full back. Minutes later, Oti blasted another opportunity wide from in front of goal, a chance he would likely expect himself to finish.

But the encouragement from the bench never stopped, and neither did the energy.

The passing began covering wider areas of the pitch now, stretching Diamond FC B further and further. Kisasa looked fearless: calm in possession, tireless in recovery, and increasingly sharp in transition.

Tremo entered the game and nearly scored with his first touch.

A few minutes later he was back again, sending dangerous efforts into the box and forcing Diamond FC B deeper under pressure. An attacking sequence saw multiple shots blocked before a desperate defensive header finally carried the ball over the crossbar.

Diamond FC B, fighting to regain a foothold in the 2-0 game still threatened. One dangerous attack nearly broke through Kisasa’s defensive line, but the final pass again ran too strong, allowing the goalkeeper to arrive seconds ahead of the Diamond striker.

The boys, meanwhile, continued to push. A resounding effort crashed against the crossbar. Quick one-twos at the back drew approving nods from the coaches. Even under pressure, the passing rarely looked rushed.

Eventually, Tremo put the game out of reach, 15 minutes before the final whistle.

Breaking away from a crowded midfield, he drove forward with the ball at his feet. It briefly looked as though the touch had escaped him, but at the final moment he stretched out a toe and slipped the finish beyond the goalkeeper. 3-0.

There was still time for one final chance. Coming at the opponents goal down the left, Tremo received the ball between the lines and unleashed a screamer toward the far post. For a second, everyone saw it flying in for his brace, but the shot crashed against the post and bounced away.

Seconds later, the whistle blew to signal another win for Kisasa FC. With this win, the boys league standing comes to six points out of a possible twelve, as looking ahead to the fifth fixture of the season, to be played against Ligi Ndogo, on the 1st of June, hosted at St. Mary’s.
